Qatar keen on women empowerment

DOHA:  Qatar Chamber Board Member Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani has participated as honoured guest in the high-level conference on “Women Leaders & Health: Empowering women leaders in innovation, medical education and healthcare delivery” which was held in Beirut, Lebanon under the patronage of Prime Minister of Lebanon Saad Hariri, on 16-17 April 2019.

The conference was organised by The Arab International Women’s Forum (AIWF), the American University of Beirut (AUB) and the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS).

The two-day event was attended by Prime Minister of Lebanon, President of the American University of Beirut Dr Fadlo Khuri, Founder & Chairman of AIWF Haifa Fahoum Al Kaylani and a galaxy of high-level officials of academic and medical fields.

The conference was also attended by a number of representatives of the Arab public and private sectors, international development organisations and institutes, civil society and business entrepreneurs from women and youth.

In press statement on the sidleines of the conference, Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani expressed her pleasure to participate in this vital event which highlighted the leading role played by women in all aspects especially in health and academic spheres.

She underscored the Qatari woman’s success in occupying many leading positions in the society, noting that there are a number of Qatari businesswomen who managed to achieve accomplishments in business world.

Al Ahmadani stressed that the Qatar’s wise leadership under the Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has attached a special interest to empowering the woman in the society in all fields.

The forum highlighted opportunities and barriers to entry for women leaders in medicine and the healthcare sciences; to promote an inclusive and empowering environment for women-led innovation, research and discovery.
