Huge response from private sector on hiring Jordanians: QC

Qatar Chamber’s (QC) Director-General Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi yesterday received a Jordanian delegation led by Jordan’s Secretary General of the Ministry of Labour, Ziad Obeidat, and other officials.

The meeting was also attended by the Chargé d’Affaires and the Minister Plenipotentiary at the Jordanian Embassy Amjad Al-Mubaidain, Labour Consultant at the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs Mohammed Al Meer, and Director of Employment Department Fawaz Mohammed Al Rayes.

QC’s Director of Legal Affairs Abdul Aziz Al Kuwar and Legal Researcher Hamad Al Ghofrani were also present at the meeting.

The meeting reviewed ways of enhancing cooperation relations between both countries in labour field, the role of private sector in attracting Jordanian labourers in response to Qatar’s initiative to recruit 10,000 Jordanians as well as accelerating the hiring of the labourers in Qatari market.

Addressing the meeting, Al Sharqi said that Qatar and Jordan enjoyed historic and strong relations, noting that the Qatari private sector responded positively with Qatar’s initiative.

He pointed out that the QC, the Ministry of Administrative Development, Labour and Social Affairs and private sector companies coordinated to streamline the procedures in hiring Jordanian labourers.
