Commercial Bank COO participates in QANZBA business leaders event

Commercial Bank’s Chief Operating Officer, Dr Leonie Lethbridge, has addressed the Qatar Australia and New Zealand Business Association (QANZBA) members-only Business Leaders Dinner.

Established in 2004, QANZBA comprises leading companies and individuals who are at the forefront of developing solid business networks between Qatar, Australia and New Zealand. QANZBA’s members are from a variety of sectors including health, finance, education, sport, transport and infrastructure.

Dr Lethbridge outlined economic trends and projections, highlighting the strength and resilience of Qatar’s economy, and expected GDP growth in 2019. In her speech, Dr Lethbridge commented on trends in the banking sector, pointing to the rise in Internet and mobile banking in Qatar. She talked about Commercial Bank’s strategy to place digital innovation at the forefront of the business, with the launch of services such as the 60 Seconds Remittance in a number of countries.

Leonie Lethbridge, COO of Commercial Bank, said: “Qatar’s economy is growing, and it already ranks highly for a business-friendly environment. Investment into the country will again become easier thanks to government initiatives like Law No. 1 of 2019 Organising Foreign Investment in the Economic Activities.
