A delegation from Argentina comprising representatives from 12 companies specialising in food, agriculture, livestock, fodder, hospitality and other sectors visited Qatar Chamber on Monday.
The delegation was headed by Under Secretary of Agro-industrial Markets in the Ministry of Production and Labor of the Argentine Republic Pedro Vigneau .The meeting was attended by Argentina’s Ambassador to Qatar Carlos Hernandez and a number of Qatari businessmen and representatives of local companies.
Addressing the meeting, Qatar Chamber’s First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Ahmed bin Towar Al Kuwari said that Qatar and Argentina enjoyed good economic and commercial relations, and added that bilateral trade volume between the two countries reached $335m last year.
He underscored the importance of H H the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani’s visit to Latin America last year including Argentina which highlighted his interest to expand Qatar’s economic and political relations and strategic partnerships with Argentina.
Al Kuwari also invited Qatari investors to explore business and investment opportunities available in Argentina, an important partner in the Latin continent, which is close to the Arab world and a good supporter for its issues.
During the event, Hernandez also said that the Amir’s visit has helped in establishing distinct relations, and added that Qatari investments in Argentina are important and there is interest to develop and grow these investments.
